Nasciere

preamble.
in my life, i have been blessed with the light of a woman who knows no bounds. she is all that i aspire to be, and in her i find a phenomenal amount of joy.

"no bird flies too high if [s]he soars with [her] own wings" - william blake

i love you.

Nasciere

Snow falls on a broken nest
Defeated
She lies in
Fetal positions
Frozen;
she waits.

Gilded snowflakes caress her;
tempting the hero inside of her to lie.
Die.
Numbed.

In the silence, I hear
[her heartbeat]
She burrows in fear
Finding comfort in all that is dark and familiar

They flew away.

But I knew her time was coming
Pulse quickens. Blood boils.
Shells crack. Tears fall.
My tears mingle with the blood she
sheds
tainting tarnished snow

Filthy
Ethereal
Clean

The moment crystallizes

In my hands, I feel her shudder
Breathe life, baby bird
Fly away

She is born.
